Fleeing the country

I'm nearly there. Bike ready, nearly packed, house sold, possessions given away....I leave the UK on 25th May. Sod the wunch of bankers at the helm...you have at last driven me away.
To check out my trip http://oldgitonabike.com As I say on my site Al Quaida have forced a less adventurous trip but if that changes so will I & I'll delve deeper into Africa if I can.
PS...I've chosen a Honda Varadero 125 VT for reasons of economy...I love it.

Good luck

Dear John,

Have a great time. I'm doing the same thing in 2015 but I'll be only 64. I am at present building up a Suzuki DR350 (combo start) with an Acrebis 24l tank fitted.
Will read your adventure with interest.

best wishes and safe travel.

Fleeing the country

Thanks to you all for your good wishes. As I say on my website this isn't the most adventurous trip I've ever done but sadly the World is a less safe place than when I did my trans Africa/India trips years ago. I'm just out to have a fun, relaxing time, visiting friends in Turkey, Cyprus, Spain & Morocco. I've worked hard all my life....time for some R&R.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
