Fly and Ride Tail Bag

Found this red $70.00 US lockable hard belly roll on at an Arizona Eddie Bauer, flew it as carry on to Europe, attached it to my G650GS, rode around a lot (across Spain), flew it as carry on to Colombia attached it to my NX400 and am still riding.

Splendid balance on the BMW and with a little innovation not pictured very secure just rode Popayan to Pasto, Colombia with the NX400 under it no problems. Use it as tail bag along with dry bag containing sleeping bag and tent plus canvas zippered roll for self inflating sleeping pad plus Cortex saddle bags.

NX400 fly and ride fotos next post.

Fly and Ride NX400

As indicated last post here are fotos of the $70.00 carry on converted into a tail bag for my Honda Falcon NX400.
And, as a bonus another plus for soft saddlebags, panniers for non westerners, here is the old warrior who learned this carry trick while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. Yes some Peace Corps volunteers actually ride horses.
If we have to "get out of Dodge", ( more western slang or an idiomatic expression meaning ... escape danger quickly) ... status quo for carrying emergency gear if "hoofing it" (yeah... western slang for walking).

Another bonus - the big guy is a law student from Kansas - no not Alice, and his sidekick, friend is German. We met these charming gentlemen at the border of Ecuador. More like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid than Lewis Carrol characters, yeah I know his real name was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson - no relation to "get out of Dodge,"

xfiltrate says Colombia is far safer than the press and some guide books would have you believe. The Colombians will tell you what areas to avoid as the "danger" is mobile. But, there was great police and military activity in and around every "danger."

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
