Great Karakoram Map
I was in a pub in Sligo (surf capital of Irealnd) when I met a bloke there who has produced a really good map of northern Pakistan and the Karakoram. Now, I'm not usually one for souvenirs (I went up the KKH a few years ago)- but I bought one off him and then thought that the rest of you guys might be interested - especially those of you who have been to this incredibla part of the world.
He is quite an eccentric guy and travels everywhere by bicycle - though most of his other trips seem to have been closer to home.
johnthemap.co.uk
to take a look and get a copy of his map.
So, if you are planning a trip to Pakistan, have already been there or just like looking at different maps- go to his site and see what you think of his KKH map.

Just stumbled across this thread about the KKH.
Still an amazing road.
Is the newly formed lake, still preventing direct vehicle access, ie, do the vehicles and cargo, still need to be transferred to boats for the length of the flooded road?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
