I didn't see the Panorama prog so I don't know the context but just looking at the picture there are parts of the US where that would be an eco compact

Yea, it's true. Las Vegas is loaded with these silly things. The failed Hummer is a favorite for the Ultra-Stretch Limo idea. Groups of Teenage kids rent them to go party in. They're actually cheap to rent.
These symbols are truly emblematic of our morally bankrupt society heading into a steep, out of control downward spiral to oblivion.

Good business though, a stat from Wiki reads.

Ok.. yeah.. that one in the pic looks pretty bad..
But.. I think they are useful in particular cases as well....
Take a wedding party. Stuffing brides maids into several different cars & trying to get them all to arrive at the same time & unwrinkled isn't an easy task.. If you can put them all in 1 vehicle with room to not mess up their clothes.. well. seems like a practical solution to me.
How about going out drinking with 12 of your mates in Las Vegas? You can try to hail 2-4 cabs.. and keep everyone together.. or just hire 1 driver & 1 vehicle for the night.
A city bus can seem more ridiculous by comparison ( in some cases ). Even larger in size.. and they keep going up & down the streets no matter if anyone is inside or not..

The chavviest chavmobile I've ever seen was a pink stretch Land Rover with racing stripes down the side and blacked out windows. Wish I'd taken a picture, it was so chavvy it was funny! :P

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
