The HUBB PUB Chat forum - no useful content required!

BUT the basic rules of polite and civil conduct which everyone agreed to when signing up for the HUBB, will still apply, though moderation will be a LITTLE looser than elsewhere on the HUBB.

My new addiction, Checking the HUBB Daily

Hi folks,

Over the last 6 or 8 months I have noticed that I am doing something at least daily, and usually 2 or 3 times a day.

As this site is a great resource for information, probably 5 to 10 times a week, I look into the morocco forum or at least scan the regional forums looking for nuggets of hope, hope that the borders are opening up and that we can start visiting places that have been almost off limits for well over 18 months.

Yes, yes, I know, you can fly into places, or perhaps get a ferry from France to Morocco, but for some that may not work as well into the "plan" as the more previously established routes.

For me the only thing I can be thankful of, is it has allowed me to save a little more, prepare a little more, plan a little more ect.

But i'm now at a point where I think I am ready to start, but the state of things worldwide is not quite there yet.

So do you find yourselves checking the HUBB daily to see if there is something new to report vis a vis, ferries and border openings?

Cheers,

Paulo

That’s not an addiction: it’s evidence of a well-rounded program of enrichment and self-care.

I've been checking it nearly every day for that last 15 years.

The hubb can be rather quiet at times these days with the mass of social medial about.

However, the quality of the posts is also now of a higher quality.

Facebook seems to have absorbed a lot of the white noise.

I also usually pop in here on a daily basis to see what's new. The Facebook version has a lot more traffic but a lot of it is of little direct interest. It does surprise me that more of the Facebook posters don't contribute to this branch of the HU tree though. It does seem to be the usual suspects here a lot of the time (and very erudite / entertaining / knowledgeable you all are ).

A legend in my own lunchtime at last.

Normally I can't even get my wife interested in what I'm doing.

You should check out UKGSER.

I'ts like the Misogynistic, racist, brexit voters appreciation society.

The hubb is generally a happy place with liberal open minded friendly people who are wanting to expand their experiences and make friends with like minded people around the world.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
