I'd forgotten OVERLAND magazine which I, slightly bizarrely, stumbled across on Brittany Ferries. I liked the feel of it, and the lack of in-your-face advertising for products you don't really need, but was dismayed to find some of the travel articles were regurgitated excerpts from books I'd already read. This was only issue 2. though so perhaps it's found new writers. The trouble for me come in the distribution, I'm a fickle buyer and very reluctant to subscribe to any magazine, I like to flick through in the shop and decide if this issue is for me but I've never found OVERLAND in a shop and taking a ferry to France every quarter does make it quite expensive.
The production quality, and pictures were glorious however, and the ethos behind it seems to be the closest match. It does strike me as almost more of a quarterly coffee table book than a magazine, but if I could find it in a shop to check the content was not something I'd read I'd buy it.
