Rules of War
Last night an idea came to me. Perhaps nations would not invade other nations, directly or by employing covert "contractor" armies or covert agents, if the invading country was held responsible for the well being of the people of the conquered nation, and obligated to pay restitution for any collateral damage or deaths.
Would such a "rule" be possible? What authority could enforce this "rule?" Much of the poverty of the world is due to war. The aftermath of the conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, ongoing as I write, are destroying and dislocating millions of people, who now have to start all over again to build a decent life.
Some programs, like the Marshall Plan after WWII, have worked in the past, but now, apparently forgotten.
Maybe we, as independent motorcycle adventurers, could agree upon new Rules of War and submit them to the United Nations, as ideas submitted from people who have witnessed the aftermath of invasion, whether it be by foreign nations, or internal revolutions.
In between s of course.
