Sorry to here that Tinoo.

Unfortunately it's happening a lot in the UK at the moment. I was chatting to a guy a few weeks ago who has a shop in Bristol and had always parked his KTM supermoto outside the front window with a chain and padlock on the rear wheel.

In September a white transit van pulled up and in less than a minute 3 guys literally picked it up and threw it in the van and drove off not even stopping at the red traffic lights down the road. He got the reg number but it had false plates....

Police said there are organised gangs shipping bikes to Europe but not many are ever traced.

Hope you a lucky and get it back..

Bones

Of no consolation to either of the posted case-studies

This topic comes along regularly in motorcycle websites; a search in here brings up more than 400 threads related to the word "theft".
Just one of the aforementioned threads, picked out at random - unlike the thieves who target vehicles for theft:-
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...l-your-54178-2

IRRC, there was even a thread a while ago that had content written by a professional vehicle thief who explained how the gangs operated; the two cases mentioned in this thread imply the common factor of an established routine of the vehicle owner: there are "spotters" out there whose task it is to pick out these weaknesses .......... just saying.

It's not that old: a 2009 registered bike, going by the original posting.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
