Ha Long Bay
If you want a extremely cheap but extremely good trip through Ha Long bay i have a tip for you! There is a ferry from from Ha Long at the marina I think it cost me and the wife + our hire moto about £3.50 GBP oneway to Cat ba island. Fabulous trip and the island is worth a visit too.
copy/paste this in google it will show you where the ferry starts>
WX8Q+QR Hạ Long, Thành phố Hạ Long, Quảng Ninh, Vietnam
same here for where it lands>
VX5J+FX Gia Luận, Cát Hải, Hai Phong, Vietnam
same here for area where to stay on the island>
P3C2+X8 Cat Ba, Cát Hải, Hai Phong, Vietnam
edit: Also if you go to the marina you can get a trip to Thien Cung cave wich is fab. Google that too.>

Thanks, I've done with Vietnam Group Tours after referring to a lot of tour agencies. I got 10% off for booking La Pinta cruise which will take us to travel from Lan Ha island to Halong Bay island.

The ferry also leaves from Hai Phong, to Cat Ba.
We used it with our 2 Honda 100cc motorbikes.

mui ne police check point
The MUI NE police check point is famous around the world . They only stop tourist ,on rental scooters or moto bike packers . Million Dong [60$ CA] fine for what ever they can think of. Just a corrupt money grab. Don,t give them your keys or take your bike in to the compound .

Ha Long Bay - I suggest renting a small boat privately - it's not that expensive and you get outstanding service and a very enjoyable time in the further areas of the Bay, away from the more crowded tour boats. Have a look at https://alanymarcemoreexploration.bl...-northern.html .
The other suggestion is the Northern Hills - Sa Pa and thereabouts. Also in the past above.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
