The A Trans Morocco Trail is the same deal as your TET etc: verified tracklogs and waypoints free to download off a regularly updated TMT Google master map. Convert to .gpx if needed, then load your device.
After that it's all up to you: do it all; do bits leaving your vehicle there or use rentals; plan it minutely for months on end, or just wing it.
Map includes verified fuel stations as well as suggested lodgings and village fuel (will be needed for some motos).

Like the NC500 etc, it is of course nothing more than a network of long existent public rights of way threaded together and given a catchy name starting with ‘Trans’. And like my M4 book, the TMT is not pitched a hardcore off-road challenge because TIA and there'll be enough challenges once out there. Tarmac stages may run for an hour or more, but these are great mountain roads and desert highways which are all part of the overland adventure.

The TMT runs in two stages:
• Chebbi to the Atlantic via mountain and desert: 2400km
• Nador over the Rekkam to Erg Chebbi ~600km

Stage One: Erg Chebbi to Cap Draa Atlantic (Sections K-Z; 2400km) is live.
I chose what I consider to be the best contiguous pistes from the 70+ routes in the new M4 book (see sig) that will be doable on the widest range of motos, gravel bikes or any car with clearance.
The green and red lines are just a way of showing alternating stages clearly.
Each section has a summary on the map but some will be highly unsuited to unfit riders on tall, heavy, overloaded motos.
Road or trail, there's always an easier way round that will often be as good, or a way to recover.
No need to wear yourself out on the way to Cap Draa unless you want to.
I estimate 14 days to cover K to Z comfortably.

You don't need to buy my M4 book (pre-order for Xmas – see sig below) to follow the TMT, but there's another ~15,000km of routes, as well as descriptions which include long TMT stages. Could be useful as a tracklog is just a line across the landscape.

TMT collaborator Ed Gill will be recce'ing the eastern ~600km section over the Rekkam plateau this autumn, so the full 3000km Trail from Cap Nador Mediterranean > Cap Draa Atlantic should be up for the New Year.

Congratulations Chris & Ed in being the first to establish a TET equivalent for Maroc.

Given the amount of Overlanders, Adventurers and Pilots Maroc gets each year, it's amazing nobody thought of the TMT before!

It's great to know that we can also get a TMT sticker.

Yeah, this looks like just the ticket for people like me who are a bit limited in capability but still want to get out on trails

I see hotels are marked on the map there, what's the maximum distance between them? And what sort of fuel range is needed?

Love this. Great work.

All lodging can be reached in a day's ride (<230km; part road) though they thin out in the west and some may be off the TMT route.

Station to station can be up to 350km (Stages N > P; T > U) so some may need village fuel (ie: by the bottle from village shops).

Nice to know the Rekkam plateau is still in your thoughts The remoteness of that area is just amazing and I had a fantastic time going through it.

One last question - you mentioned that these are "easy" trails - would the route be doable in a small but suitably rugged car, like a Renault 4?

Well done Chris for putting this trail together! I'm looking forward to Christmas now when the new book comes out and the TMT goes live.
I've not been to the Rekkam Plateau but with a trip planned for spring next year perhaps I'll follow this route to get down south.

Got to say I don't really get the Rekkam the couple of times I've been there.
Cold and bleak in winter; probably just bleak at other times.
But I think I'm a bit of an outlier and Ed has been researching some interesting corners for his recce later.
You certainly can't claim it's over-run with tourists like nearby Chebbi, but unless camping, on a moto lodgings are a bit sparse.

It certainly does look bleak and I think it could appeal as I'm not too keen on over tourism. Maybe I'll need to strap a tent and camping kit on the back.

I am now giving this serious thought, whereas previously Morocco was only a vague "I'll get around to it someday" thing.

I've traveled to Morocco for work several times, and I've ridden 3000km alone on a 640Adv before Covid using your older book as a reference. Very useful. I just love this country, its geography, culture, and people. Now the TMT gives me a perfect reason to return ASAP, though on a different bike. Hope to meet you someday at some point!
