For sale 24ltr Honda Af Twin RD03/RD04 tank. Fits PD06 Transalp & vacuum Fuel Pump,UK

Following de-adventurisation of my trusty Transalp.

As the title says… This will fit an RD03 650 and RD04 750 Honda Africa Twin, but NOT a RD07 or RD07a.

It will fit a PD06 Transalp.
This one was on my old 1987 Trannie. It includes 2 original Africa Twin fuel taps which are mandatory to fit it onto the Transalp. The taps are only off/on. Normal on/off/reserve taps will screw onto the tank, but the tank won’t fit onto the bike! The tank holds 24 litres. The standard one is 15, I think.

Don't know if it fits a PD10 650cc Transalp. Also, the standard TA fairing won't bolt onto it. I used it without a Transalp fairing, but used a MX front end, as shown in this picture:

There’s also a vacuum fuel pump off a early mid 90s Yamaha XTZ660. It never malfunctioned in all the time I had it. Also various bits of fuel line and a t piece to do a 2 into 1 on the fuel lines.

No fuel cap, but the standard cap on your bike will fit.

The 2 holes where the fuel level sensors would go have been blocked, but can be unblocked. No fuel sensors in this sale either.

As you can see from the pictures, there is a fair bit of surface rust, but this would easily come off if painted professionally. I bought it with no paint and just spray painted it myself.

No leaks, no big dents, very few very minor blemishes.

Believe it or not, the tank costs £650 new from Honda!

£85 the lot (will not separate out). Might consider posting within the UK, but it would be very expensive as very heavy. Location is close to jtn 24 and 25 M62 Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Reply here, PM me or email via my website.
Cheers
Chris

Tank

Hi mate,

is this still for sale?

If so, are there any dents or gouges, scrapes in the tank?

I dont care about the finish, as it will be repainted.

Please email back as I am very keen.

Thanks,
Andrew

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
