WANTED - hire or buy camping equipment UK/Europe
Hello,
Last minute planning due to unexpected circumstances mean that I'm planning a two month trip last minute on a hired bike. I had all my camping equipment at home (Australia) packed for shipping but hoping on the off chance I could get it a little sooner. I'm currently in Wales, but will be moving around a bit, and collecting the bike on the 6th September so willing to travel to collect. Primarily after a tent, sleeping mat and sleeping bag. I've found a multi fuel stove for a reasonable price. Would be also happy to hire this equipment if someone has some they're not currently using as mine unfortunately often is. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Many thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave
If you dont get a better shout try "Go Outdoors" - a big outdoors discount retailer with bases around the UK. They have a range of decent priced tents and kit that would get you going without braking the bank.

to be honest
The weather over here is going down hill towards winter, youd be better off using a bed and breakfast for sure. When it rains over here it rains,as youve no doubt seen in wales.

Yes the weather is getting bad over there, and with long dark nights.
YHA the uk hostels can be a good option out of season YHA Youth Hostels, Campsites, Camping & Glamping Pods
if you become a member you save a little more. Some have bars and are good for meeting other people.
Keswick or Ambleside in the lakes are good for outdoor and camping gear, but be careful on quality for winter, Field and Trek or Sports Direct are a big discout company ( two name for same business ) https://www.fieldandtrek.com/ .
There could be some bargins on gear at this time of year.

Thanks everyone.
I ended up getting my stuff from Australia shipped over, it ended up being the cheapest option. Managed to get a few weeks in Norway, although mostly wet so not the best for riding. Over in Slovenia at the moment before heading back to the UK next week to give the bike back. Been having a ball, and thanks to this forum, all made to feel achievable if not easy. So thanks to anyone who might read this.
Cheers,
Dave

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
