Mexico border crossing
Not sure if this is the right forum.

We crossed today from Eagle Pass, Texas into Mexico. First thing to note is that when you actually get into Mexico there is no immigration. They do a quick check but pretty much just wave you through. Make sure to stay on 57 towards Allende. The border station is about 51 miles south.

Now after thinking I almost missed it there is was, no signs on the route whatsoever. We were the only guys there, it was completely empty!!! Awesome crossing. Got TVIP and tourist card in the same building. 30 minutes.

Yep, there's a large area south of the border where Americans can go buy drugs and women without having to deal with immigration.

I learned the hard way the bank to pay your tourist card is normally located very close to the border crossing.

If only there was a huge sign reminding to all first-timers in Mexico that they MUST SHOP their tourist card right there and not 600kms further south..

And another reminder to keep the f*** receipt together with the tourist card (or FMM) in order to show it at the exit border!!!!!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
