And maybe is not a bad thing if it goes that way. Every nation/region with its own voice, if we have a real European UNION there is no problem at all.

A Spanish judge has stepped hard on the independence movement.

An interesting read is to read about Catalonia during the Spanish Civil War. Hemingway did a short documentary

RIP José Manuel Maza
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/19/w...y-general.html
" Spain’s attorney general, José Manuel Maza, who was leading the prosecution of the separatist Catalan leaders, died on Saturday while in Argentina to attend an international law conference."
Cause of death said to be kidney infection. Strange he died in Argentina?
IMHO there are good honest men on both sides of the Catalan issue. This man, the honorable Sr Maza, was doing his best to abide by the laws of his country in the face of much adversity. The separatists, some in prison, are following the hearts and minds of many people who want to separate from Spain.
There is a parallel here with the divisions among the Sunni, Shiites and Kurds of Iraq. In general and sometimes albeit temporarily, the Sunni control the north, the Shiites control the south and the Kurds control their ancestral lands. Armies come in and alter the boundaries, but the divisions remain in place.
This separatists movement in Catalan will persist. Catalan like the "oil fields" of Iraq - represents much wealth.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
