Thanks for pointing this out.
The link: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-...th-africa/iran
If the couple who was denied an Iranian visa and were at the UK meeting last weekend are reading this, please PM me, I'd like to quiz you as I've been planning on crossing Iran around October and now may have to change plans if things don't calm down... even though experience says mainstream media & governments are fear-mongers, without a visa we're still not going anywhere...

We have our visas but are now worried they may be revoked before we leave in 7 weeks.

We had already got our visa numbers from Magic Carpet travel and sent them off today with our passports to the Iranian Embassy in London.
We also sent off today for our carnets, having already got the Pakistani visas.
If the Iranians refuse to allow our visa, we are very lucky that we have not yet paid the carnet fee of several thousand pounds.
A disruption to our dream of travelling through Iran to Nepal yes, but we have to wish the Iranian people well with their dream of a free election, they deserve our support I think.

From my experiences at the Iranian embassy here in Delhi yesterday it looks unlikley they'll be issuing visas anytime soon.
It wasn't a direct no, more a go home to England and try from there because we have no options for you here. A fob off then. They did mention using a visa agency but as I've now been waiting 10 weeks to hear back from Iranianvisa.com (is this a new record) I don't hold out much hope.
That's why I'm desperately trying to get everything arranged to go up and over, through China and the Stans instead. A nuisance, but nothing near what the Iranian people are going through. I wish them well.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
