If any of you happen to see overlanders traveling with dogs, can you ask them to be in touch with me? This is for a book...

Would love to take my dogs overlanding, its harder leaving them than it is friends or (human) family! Never seen anyone travelling with their best freind - near impossible from the UK due to the paperwork...took em to France once, absolute red-tape nightmare

Now and then we see dogs on bikes at BMW rallys in the US but I am not sure about international travel.
We would see Rastus the cat at some of the rallys, we miss both of them.

Dogs can go too !!!

Dogs abroad.. no sweat... when you arrive at a border crossing the custom officers are so surprised that they are not sure what paperwork is required..although a rabies certificate is the one thats asked for the most.

We found hotels were a problem as most dont like dogs inside especially Islamic countries but that meant more time in the great outdoors.

Yes it was hassle but worth it and we met some great folks...

biscuits

These are both brilliant, I'll contact them. Keep the ideas coming, Though I'm looking specifically for dogs who've travelled internationally, the dog biscuit king is great!

This is great hearing from other Dog travellers.

We hopefully leave in 12 months time travelling in our landcruiser with our belgian shepherd dog with us, heading to SA then maybe onto South America.

Has anyone done these routes with their canine friend - would love to hear from you as I have some questions for you

The only thing I can help with, is I did some traveling in Kenya/Tanzania with Dog. Can advise on that tiny stretch only....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
