looking for guy from montana who sold his bike in Mali
Looking for Adam Woods from Montana. He sold his girlfriends bike to a lebanese man here in Bamako Mali. I would like to buy it, but I have some question about the paper work. It is registered to a man in france. Adam has a receipt for its' sale in his name. If I were to buy it how would I transfer ownership to my name? another receipt mabye? I am a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali from rapid city SD. My time here is almost done and I am thinking about a trip north to europe. Bikes are scarce here and this tenere600cc would be great. It has only electric start though. Is there a way to install a kick starter?

Hi,
I am intending to ship my XL650 (dominator motor in perfect shape) to Mali in january/february and cross over to Dogon and the Kananga region where I have a foster child. I would then leave it there, maybe you want to buy it which would help me to do the thing. Maybe too late for you. The bike is very powerful, in good shape and has a 22 liter fuel tank, brand new tires Pirelli etc.
I know Mali does not have the carnet system which would make it more or less easy to sell, maybe you can sort this out locally with customs in Bamako, where the shipping would arrive (a Maersk container; The price would only be about 1000 US dollar.
reply quickly as I will go in holiday soon + change work.

hey Matt, Ted here,
I think the guy in Mali is Nick Woods, at least that is the name I remember, I was following his route for awhile from Kayes, Bafulabe, Kita and into Bamako. Just thought I would let you know the name I remember.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
