Motorcycle Sexpedition ?
To plagiarizer some words from a song introduction I heard by B B King, but attributed to Chico Marx in the 1933 Movie DUCK SOUP, and in the spirit of fun, herein is a true tale and question:
King's version was based on his wife confronting him with 8" x 10" black and white photos of him with another woman in various sexpeditious positions in a motel room. He vehemently denied it was he, and said, "Honey, who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?"
Having a little fun: We needed a special expedition type motorcycle for a promo ad for the 2024 WIFOT updated and digitalized spoof on Sigmund Freud of the 1996 best selling book, MOTORCYCLE SE*.... (not XXX rated and now available on the Big Gorilla, Amazon.) The producers wanted a Kawasaki model that was not sold in the country of the photo shoot. What later appeared are in the images below.
Several times I have overheard marginal motorheads and newly minted motorcycle travelers argue over what they were looking at when the motorcycle was parked. One "expert" proclaimed it to be an experimental/prototype Yamaha and said to the newbie looker something close to: "Who are you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"
Regards, Dr. G having a little fun in the forum when things seemed a bit slow or boring. Keep calm and your underwear untwisted...life's too short not to laugh and have fun, and "don't shoot the messenger."

Sexpedition Secret Exposed
A behind the scenes re: MOTORCYCLE SEXPEDITION ADVENTURE: Exposed
A printed photograph of the motorcycle below was given to the custom paint shop to use as a model for the above Expedition book photo shoot. The shop owner/artist said of the one waiting for paint, "So you want to make it sexy looking like this one?"
A dedicated Yamaha Tenere owner gasped and said, "It'll be scandalous."
A Kawasaki KLR owner said, "Cool."
The Sexy Bar owner said, "I want some of those MOTORCYCLE SEXPEDITION stickers (photo below, 10,000 somewhere around the world) to put on my Honda and Suzuki."
So the question of lying eyes morphed into "What's next, badging some Japanese motorcycle to look like a Harley-Davidson and travel around fooling people?"
"Nope," was the reply, "that's already been done. It was called a Rikuo, which in Japanese meant "King Of The Road." (1957 model RQ750 pictured below).
Regards, Dr. G, from the Non-AI road

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
