Need Battery Tiger 800 XC in Guanajuato

The battery of my Tiger 800XC is dead (un-chargeable)....the bike sat in my hotel lobby for two weeks and when I attempted to start the bike this morning it was dead. Had it charged and it would not hold a charge.....it is dead. I do not speak any useful spanish yet. Tried AutoZone in Guanajuato, they do not carry any moto batteries and they will not get me one. I am not pressed for time but would like to get going again soon. The battery and parts places are pretty much closed for the weekend so I will began looking again Monday morning.

If anyone has any usefull ideas I am all ears. It is a good bet that there is not going to be a battery for the Tiger in Guanajuato. Likely the nearest battery will be in Leon. If I locate a battery in Leon it probably will not find me until Tuesday or Wednesday. Should I order a battery on the internet and have it shipped to my hotel?

Any ideas anyone?

Stuck, But Not in a Bad Place,

Johnny Hubbard

I am currently out of Mexico, but DO NOT hesitate to contact my Motorcycle Club (the Tuaregs) via Facebook :
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1844...43219/?fref=ts
or Via Web: www.Motoviajero.com/foros

We are about 400 members all over the country and I know there are a lot in the Bajío area, and for sure they can give you a hand.
And yes, most of us understand english

If for some remote reason you could not contact the Touaregs Community, I strongly recommend you to contact "Motomundo", which is one of the biggest retailer of motorcycle parts and accesories

Talking

Hey John,I shared your post with my contacts on FB, and a very good friend of mine contacted me about it. He is a distributor of several brands, and he happens to have some batteries in Guanajuato. He is from Texas, but delivers everywhere.
You should write him some lines regarding your battery. His email is:
caracheo_martin@yahoo.com

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dudu,

I have sent an email to Mr. Martin and will await his reply. It would be better not to spend a day on a bus if it is not necessary.

Thanks again!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
