Opinions required
Hi All,
I left home on 10th June on an estimated one year rtw jaunt. I knew when I left that my mum's 50th birthday would fall during October this year. I was told that she wouldn't be doing anything for her birthday.
I now find out that she is having a party for the family which is approx 30 of us. I am very tempted to fly home for the event to UK from Guatamala. Would land on the saturday morning and fly back out on the sunday morning. Would cost me just under $1000.
Have concerned that I will somehow without wantin to overshadow the event.
Do I tell any of the family if I do go back that I am coming back?
I am very confused right now so any comments and opinions will be gratefully received
Kind regards
Paul
On the road leaving San Francisco and heading towards Mexico next thursday :-)

Are the people gathering to celebrate her birthday or you?
It's only a easy flight there and back, right?
Have you been crowned some type of royality since having left?
Is there more to this?

Never forget that all those other people attending have been leading their own lives, too.
Maybe one got a new swimming pool, another won a large bacarat hand, another has started horse riding lessons, etc....

Well if I honest I did think about the week but know she will be back at work, and she is off to Canada as well some point near that date, so thought at least the sunday she would be around.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
