Third party liability insurance?
I have just been made aware that although my insurance covered personal insurance, medical including medivac, the motorcycle insurance, etc, none of the policies I have taken over the years covered for third party liability insurance. This is for countries east of Turkey and beyond. Any advice and recommendations appreciated. Cheers

Motorcycle insurance and medical insurance are completely separate things.
Medical covers you for medical bills outside of your home country, and hopefully medevac should you need it. It's not generally compulsory but it's a very good idea to have it, as medical bills can run into thousands of $ or even hundreds of thousands in some countries.
Motorcycle insurance is mandatory in most countries. Even if it's Third Party Only (TPO) it protects other people from the consequences of your actions. The costs of claims can be huge - it's not just damage to other vehicles, but if you hit a pedestrian who requires 24/7 care for life you can be into millions. You won't normally get insurance that is more than TPO, so you won't be covered for theft or damage to your bike. Your policy at home may cover you for certain other (stated) countries, but if they're not stated, you're not covered. Local police can fine you or even impound your bike if they check and you aren't insured. You can sometimes buy online but more common is to buy from a shed near the border. Ask the border officials.

Are you talking about some sort of personal third party liability insurance separate from your bike insurance? Insurance against, for example, you on foot bumping into and injuring someone? Not sure I’ve ever had anything like that unless it was a hidden benefit that I didn’t know about

Thank you.
Yes, we have taken local TP insurance in border huts before. I was wondering about recommendations prior to departure from Europe.
I’ll be more specific, has anyone managed to buy this type of insurance for a) Pakistan, b) Russia, c) Stans around the Pamir Highway?
If so, who from and what extent of cover did it give? Many thanks
