Who killed Bungee?
The best bit of kit I ever had. Guaranteed my stuff would stay on the bike - ish. Also allowed me to string up my poncho effectively as a young Para, thereby keeping me dry - ish. I've also dried a quite a few grods on my bungee washing line. Preparing for my upcoming trip, I ventured into a motor accesories retailer, and on making my request was told, "no,sorry they are illegal". Apparently, they "can 'ave yer eye out". Frankly, I'm glad I'm leaving this country. I can't scratch my arse without a risk assessment these days.

You can buy them online. Screwfix Direct and they sort of places do them. Personally I prefer ratchet straps rather than bungee straps as they are much more secure, but each to their own.

I like ROK straps , they work like ratchet straps but have an elastic portion that "gives' a bit .

Arse scratching is indeed a risky pastime...
StretcherMonkey,
I know how you feel, before my last trip it took me ages to find an insurance company which would cover me for Arse Scratching. Some would cover it, but only if "Arse Scratching is not the main purpose of your trip and no more than one day in six is spent in Arse Scratching up to a maximum of 6 days in any 12 month period."
Others would cover Arse Scratching as the main purpose of the trip but only up to two fingers and even then there was no cover for post action sniffing.
Matt
PS- I've got a horrible feeling I'm gonna spend the rest of the day singing "Who killed Bungee" in my Sid Vicious voice and it's all your fault.

Sid's version of "who killed Rok-Strap" is pretty dire although I am partial to a Rok-Strap or four.
And the best of all, I don't need to fill out a risk assessment although I strongly recommend wearing a hi-viz jacket, hard hat and safety goggles just in case. Remember where you put them once you've taken them off otherwise you've got yourself a trip hazard and you don't even want to go there...

Pedant Alert
Rok-Straps are better than bungees but Sid Vicious didn't sing "Who killed..."; Tenpole Tudor did.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
