Hello,
I'm an ancient guy (53) from Istanbul/Turkey and have plan to head solo Ulan Bator leaving from Istanbul in the timeframe mid to end of June 2019. Earlier my plan was to cross through Iran however don’t know if you are aware they recently updated the legislations for motobikes entries to country. Over 250cc motorbikes are not allowed for entry anymore, so I revised the route to North going through Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirghistan, Mongolia, Gobi Desert and Ulan Bator. No idea yet about return maybe will send back the motorbike by airway or shorten the route in order to save time to ride back to Istanbul.
I have 1200GS-ADV-LC but will do the tour with an old 1100GS or 1150 GS. If takes your interest we can ride together any part of the route up to Kirgizistan.

Hi Yavuz
The 250cc limit for travellers in Iran is a disappointment. I wonder if they will be enforcing it by next year?
Looks like Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirghistan ->China might be a better route. If you're located in Istanbul we could certainly team up there.
I'll look into the visa situation re: Georgia and Russia - should be OK
We're leaving Holland at the beginning of July so timing is good.
Kind regards
Paul

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
