Belize
Hi all,
heading from Cancun to Belize on Thursday, anyone around? Looking for advice on where to stay? Will probably only spend a few days before heading into Guatemala, so any advice is welcome.

Have a good time in Belize
Hi,
When you head over towards Guatemala you may want to turn south and go to Hopkins on the Belize coast. It is a neat little coast town, lots of tiny places to stay. The ride south is really pretty compared to the flat dried out country around Cancun and northern Belize, lots of orange groves, limestone hills etc. Check out the Mennonite bakeries and cheese places. Too bad you must come out the way you went in but... The road into Guatemala is rough gravel (but I did it on a Harley bagger) then to Tikal. From there the road south in Guatemala towards Puerto Barrio is new pavement and great.
Its all good.

Hey Silversurfer,
We are in Mazatlan and will be heading south along the coast tomorrow. Not sure when we will be crossing into Guatemala but expect it will be in a week. Keep in touch.

Belize or Gutemala
Hi,
I am presently a couple of hours South East of Veracruz, still not sure if going to Belize first or straight to Guatemala.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
