Bike trip across Europe to Russia - April 2017

Hi all,
Next year around April I wanna hit the road and explore Europe closer by motorbike. Given the route I might ride from Italy towards Greece and then further to Russia and Georgia. After a loop in Russia it is time to head back sooner or later, but I have no deadline, just a rough plan in which direction. I like spontaneous riding with imminent coincidences, wherever we get it can be everywhere funny
I prefer lots of camping and I don’t need much comfort in hotels, just maybe once in a while a Sauna is nice to have
Beside riding on tarmac roads I’m also into looking out for offroad tracks and terrible bumpy roads

If someone looks at something similar and is ready to experience funny moments and adventurous riding then please get in touch

Ken

Hi,

Have a similar plan but prefer staying in hotels after a day on the bike.
But maybe we can ride together for a couple of days.
What bike you have? Bit more details about your plan?

Hi Marcel,
Yes would be nice From time to time a hotel to recover is not bad.
I ride an old Africa twin. Start riding from Switzerland towards Greece across the countries in between as Croatia and Albania I have not such a detailed plan yet but after further to Hungary and Russia and I heard Georgia must be great for riding!
Where are you from?

Ken

Guys,

I will be travelling from the UK to Istanbul, then on to Georgia and Russia, returning via Belarus and eastern Europe next year. I only have 4 weeks of vacation from work, so not too much time sadly. Current schedule is to travel around May 2017.

Anyway, if there is any chance of meeting up with other people on the road, that would be great!

I have an F800ST and will be sticking to tarmac, not planning on camping as of now but that might change.

Hi guys,

My name is Alex, I live in Russia in Moscow. We do motorcycle tours in Russia, have bike rentals and small travel agency..))

If you are going to visit Russia next year and you have any questions:
1) Regarding visa
2) Crossing the border
3) Routes, hotels, sights

Don't hesitate to ask. I would be glad to help you.

See you on the road or in Moscow for a glass of ...)))

Yours,
Alex

It's good to know the European roads will be active with like minded riders.....I was going to ride from OZ throughout SEA, then on to the UK..the new and rather strict laws several countries have or will implement is making it to difficult for someone inexperienced like me....so now I'm flying to England early April, buying a bike, kitting it up and planning on spending approx 3-4 months around Europe...and like you guys, hopefully meet up with other riders for part of my journey....

Glad to hear someone else prefers the camping if weather permits. Ride until an hour before sunset, find suitable plot, eat and brew up (or bear) and chat before kip. No must be here or there, just agreement on direction.
I`m heading down to Bulgaria from UK after reaching Russian border in May, hoping to meet up with like minded riders en-route.

Hey hi,
Oh yes would be cool to drink once some a. I'm Swiss.
I was also looking at riding across Russia to Japan, that's a true adventure
I still have this in mind, it just depends on what travel companion I meet. The Europe trip is my alternative including a loop in Russia.
How long is your trip gonna be?

See ya

Hi Guys

I'm planning on riding from Cyprus back to the UK - roughly: Turkey, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, UK.

I planning on 3-4 weeks in Late Apr/Early May. Seems like there is the potential for a few others doing similar routes. Keen to ride with others and not too fussed on the specific route - so if anyone interested in teaming up, let me know!
