Just over the mountain....
Oh cool,
Well I'm just on the otherside of the mountain in Uki and in fact rode through Billinudgel on the way to the beach just the other day. Just getting saddle bags and other bits together ready for a few longer trips.

Repairs
HI,
Just organised a Staintune pipe for the DR and a service, should be on the road soon.....do you go exploring locally much ?
Funnily enough have been to Uki pub a few times recently for a or 2, mostly Sunday or weekday if I have time.
Am keen to get the feel of the DR locally, then expand my horizons in due course.
Cheers iain

Out of age range?!.....LOL
Hi gjw,
Would be great to keep in contact about your plans. Will be doing a similar trip in south America at some point, though I may buy a bike there.
For the record the extra bits already on my 08 KLR: - SWMotech Crash bars
- Homemade aluminium skid plate fixed to crash bars (I think giving wider protection than most skid plates)
- Homemade aluminium lockable back box
....so thats as I bought it and I intend to find some good luggage bags (maybe 'Wolfman') and also make some steel handguards for it.
There's loads of good spots to ride down this way. Reply on this thread and we could all meet up. Interestingly, I got into motorbikes from riding in South East Asia and I'm just off to Laos in the new year for a 2nd bike trip there. Would love to swap stories as I also plan to visit Sumatra next winter.
Sorry about the age limit! LOL

Iain,
Ok, Got a bit of servicing to do on my KLR too. Most of it seemns pretty straight forward from looking in the service manual so will do as much as possible myself.
