Cairo to Cape Town - Starting Oct 2011
Hello everyone,
We'll arrive at Amman on Sept 27th and plan to be in Cairo around Oct 10th.
From Cairo we'll going south to Sudan, Etiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and then SA. We planned to spend 3 months to reach Cape Town.
We're looking for riders who are intersting to join us.
We're a couple of brazilians, 2 up on a GS on a RTW Trip. We just made the Americas with others riders and the experience was really positive!
Thank you all.
Marcelo & Beth

Hello Marcelo,
I did the trip from cape town to cairo last year so you may find some useful information on my website... Cape to Cairo 2010
I did Cape town to Malawi and back via Mozambique this year and you will find the posts on the same website.
Your trip sounds fantastic but I am a little concerned about Tanzania into Northern Mozambique, roads very bad and not much tarred so be aware of that. The alternative is to come down from Tanzania into Malawi and then enter Mozambique from Malawi and roads are tarred the whole way through on that basis. Also, Malawi, and the lake in particular is worth seeing.
I note your comment about recently having completed the Americas. I am planning Buenos aires to Ushuaia to Purdhoe Bay to Anchorage in January 2013. Did you keep a blog or website of your trip, route, experiences etc?
Regards
Rui

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
