Anyone knows how much it will cost to draw funds from ATM machines in S. America using the PLUS system? Is it easy to operate?

I'm in Chile and it regularly costs about $6 to take out money, and the maximum around here is $200, though I hear it's more in other places.
I also am offering a place to rest and chat next to the ocean. 178 km north of Santiago, 1km off the main highway 5. Email me at LC at LorraineChittock.com for directions/waypoint.
You have to love dogs, I have four! Two of them I brought with me from Kenya, we traveled all over Latin America in a ex-police van. ;-)

Thanks for the headsup, I shall note down your contact and let you know when I am in Chile.
Hmmm...$6 to take $200, that is 3% handling charge, plus charges from the account opening bank (HK) I am looking at 6%! Wow, who can make more profit by giving someone their own money? I think I am in the wrong business.

Hi Airdale,
Looks like you are crossing from the East and I am from the West. However, since our departure date is close, there is a chance we cross our path somewhere in C. America. Stay in touch on this thread and we'll see faith put us together or not. Its my first trip too,
Franki

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
