ColOmbia in early December 2006?

Hi,
I'll be in Panama the first week of December. Anybody want to ride through Columbia with me. Either boat to Carteheneja, or fly to Bogata.
Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks,
nick

Ride through Colombia

We should be in Panama around the same time and are planning on
Shipping our bike to Cartegena, Columbia from Colon, Panama.
Stay in touch by PM's and maybe we can hookup in Panama and ship
a few bikes togather.
Then we will ride to Equador, and can travel together if our routes are
the same.

Nick. Rick here from Puerto Escondido. Sounds like your plans changed a bit. We turned the bikes over to Girag today (8th) to fly to Bogota. We are leaving tomorrow (9th). Thread on shipping info under "Shipping from Panama City to Bogota & Quito in the Trip Transport forum. There was a fellow (L Toby and Daughter) there today that is going back tomorrow to ship to Quito. May see you down there.
Rick

Made it through colombia early

I'm already in Quito. Colombia was a blast. so much beauty in the both the people and the landscape. there is one small section of road between medellin and cali that was a bity scary. we were warned by the military that there was still an ongoing problem with guerillas. so, be safe everybody. ask about the road before riding down it. Colombia is not to be missed, but tread carefully, it is still a police state.

The bit from Cali to Medellin....

Rode that bit today. No hassles, no problems, but *lots* of military & police. Have had enough of those fu@@ing thunderstorms though.

Not been stopped yet (famous last words). They seem to appreciate it if you slow down as soon as you see them, flip up the visor & raise a glove.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
