Colombia in May 2009
Currently in Puno, and hope to be in Colombia at some point in early May - reports pending. Given the press, I would prefer to travel Colombia with another biker/s. I am on a 2003 KLR650. Would anyone be interested in teaming up for a trip from Quito to Bogota or beyond.
Kind regards

Forget it!
Al, you,re worries are completely unfounded.I drive around Colombia on a daily basis as does Mike at CasaBlanca in Cali.We went about three or four hours north west of Medellin yesterday and thing as very tranquil.
The only worry you should have is that you don,t crash around Pasto!
Go to the Latin America section on ADV and you,ll see Mikes Vids of the rescues.

This weekend i did lovely roads from Cuenca to Quito. Gorgeous landscape regardless the weather.
Ecuadorian roads are safe, u can find alternative 2ry roads awesome ones for a klr, means not to be "panameriqueando" every day, ie:From Riobamba to the Cotopaxi Volcano with just few Km over asphalt.
Send a priv. mess when u get to Quito.

Early June
I was going to take a boat to Columbia early June but was going to go to Venezuela first before continuing south down the Pan American.
Though I am willing to change plans to ride with someone for a while as getting a bit tired of my own company (this doesn't take long for me as I have heard it all before).
All the best,
Annette

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
