Yes, getting very excited. Most things are organised. But I'm sure I'll forget something important . Arriving in Cherbourg Sunday week and hope to find a campsite that's open. Having a few drinks with friends on Friday - you're more then welcome to join. Apparently I'm getting an escort to the boat also
Planning to go to see the Normandy Landings and St. Michel first then maybe to Luxembourg for a few days - friend offered me to stay and go to the photo exhibition in Clervaux - then back to France and the Med, Pyrinees and Andalucia. Want to go there early, cos of the heat later in the summer . What date are you heading over. Could meet up the North of France, if it suits you?

There is no tight schedule and if I don't get to all the places on the list - that's fine too. I want to do some sightseeing, canoeing and general holidaying on this trip and am not intending to be in the saddle for the whole day. There will also be some resting days - it's a holiday after all
If you are heading in the same direction and want to meet up along the way or join in for parts of the trip - looking forward to meeting you
PS: Accommodation will be a mixture of camping and budget hotel accommodation.
Oh, and tips on must-dos and must sees along the way are always welcome!
Cheers

Just be sure to bring your passport and access to lots of funds we would need to meet up before you depart alright, if we both want to go a bit together. Two shortens the road. a bit apprehensive in a way, been to kerry on the bike but dubrovnik is a bit further. The 1200GS is the bike for the job that im sure. Talk soon.

Dub to Dub
Just a quick update:
started the trip two weeks ago and bike broke down on day one - got sorted in a few short days and toured around Normandy and Brittany. Met with BrO'Donn in Lorient last week and he managed to get some first-class acommodation for the night and also organised a gig in the local Irish Pub, with so many musicians thye had to start a session in a different room, s they wouldnt all fit into the one room. Was a great night - thanks again BrO'Donn!!! Hope you got home safe?
Now in the Loire Valley. Weather is absolutely fabulous so far and the roads are great.
Heading on tomorrow - not sure where yet Massive Central or the Alps or the gorges???
Decisions Decisions Decisions :confused1:
If ayone is in France at the moment and wants to meet up over the next couple of days before I head to Spain or, if yous are in Spain in about two weeks time, let me know.
Cheers, Em

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
