Ecuador-Peru-Bolivia-Chile-Arg : Sept-Dec 2009
Hi all,
We will be travelling from Quito southwards then up to Buenos Aires from Sept - Dec this year (2009), 2-up, 1 bike. Interested in hearing from anyone else riding around this time, particularly if you'd like to join up for a jaunt across the Salar de Uyuni area sometime around October!
Also interested in hearing from anyone re. recommendations of bike-friendly places to stay, meet others etc.

Ian
We (2up) will be leaving BA Argentina m/l Sept. 15th and heading Northwest- into Chile then up to Peru. Wife will fly home on the 29th then I want to ride into Bolivia around the first of Oct. Send me a PM and I will keep in touch, Maybe we can ride for a ways.
After Bolivia I ride north, so would be for only a few days but would like to see the Salt Desert and might be best to have company through there.

Bolivia in early November
Hi all,
If my plans materialize, I should be southbound from LaPaz around November 6, heading for the salt flats and TDF, solo on a KLR. I too, would welcome some company to traverse what most riders agree to be one of the toughest, most remote and most rewarding routes of the ride down to TDF. Some ride it alone, I hope to ride the area with one or two other riders for pure security reasons in case of a breakdown (and to take pictures of me of course!). Keep in touch.

One of my favourite routes so far which I never hear much about was Puno in Peru to Tacna in Peru, it's very remote and very beautiful.

I am in Bogota now and will be in Quito first week of September. I should be able to cross into Bolivia at the end of the month. I do want to spend some time in the country riding, but wouldn't mind some company - to help pick up my overloaded 1150GSA.

Quito
Would you be flexible 2 depart from Ecuador by mid october?
I'm trying to find a partner for a trip in Peru (and if possible Bolivia) for at least 35-40 days.
I'm an ecuadorian rider, my intention would be to travel mainly the andean peruvian highways. I have rode "solo" around my country, and i'll keep my intention to come back alone. My bike: a 2004 640 KTM. Probably part of the journey can be 2 up.
Let me know if my journey can fit with yours.

At the mopment I am in Costa Rica, working in a bar in Samara. I finish work at the end of this week, and heading south.
I am meeting my girlfriend in Bogota in October (round the 11th) we would be up for some company too, for al the same reasons, security, breakdowns etc etc, we are all about paved roads, as we are on a Harley, anybody going to the meet in Medellin, at the end of October?
all the best to all of you on the road

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
