EU - Iran - Stans - Mongolia - May 2014 - Who?
Hi,
I am Planning a trip to Mongolia for 2014.
Route: Delft - Italy - Turkey - Iran - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - Kazakhstan - Mongolia - maybe back with bike on Trans Siberia Express to Moscow - Delft
Surely interested in info on countries, routes, visa, interesting places, where to eat & sleep - bike transport (by Trans Siberia Express or other) - best period of traveling (Mongolia seems critical - river passing / snow) - how much time it will take etc.
I think it is not a very good idea to travel alone through Mongolia and maybe Turkmenistan? thus looking for companion.
Currently drive a '91BMWK75RT - Planning to get a Tenere xt660z for this trip.
Looking forward sharing - info - plans - thoughts - the road.
Leo

Right now on return from Iran, writing from Ankara.
Planning the Stans next year and Mong in 2015
Riding a BMW F 800 GS ...would really have prefered the xt 660 in the off road mountains of Iran...:-/
Ride alone, but like to meet with others on the road....keep in touch and lets have a look at it in spring..!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
