Hi Neil, I leave the UK on the 9th July, planning on doing Germany for 7-10 days then heading East. I have visas for Belarus & Russia and my loose plan is as follows-
After Germany transit through Czech Republic, Poland and into Ukraine (Kiev). Do the Chernobyl tour then North into Belarus. Probably spend 4 days In Belarus then North into the Baltic states. Spend as long as it takes to do Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia then into Finland. May spend a few days in Finland then East into Russia. Spend 1/2 days in St Petersburg, 2/3 days in Moscow then South towards Volgograd/Astrakhan and into Georgia for the Military Highway. From there into Turkey and end up on the Black Sea with the intention of doing Crimea if time permits otherwise a run around Romania & Bulgaria in a slow Northerly direction.
I'm hooking up with a guy from this forum for the Germany part of the trip, we will go our separate ways at some stage after that, I know he hasn't got visas for Belarus or Russia.
he (Steve) is planning on camping but I'm going for hotels/hostels all the way. I'm keen to hook up with other riders for as much of my trip as I can so like you an flexible in respect of when and where.
I'm planning on being back in the UK for the 1st October.
Hope we can make a plan for a meet up for & story swapping....
Regards,
John
