Finland to Vladivostok, June-August 2014
Hi everyone,
I am traveling solo to Japan, on my RTW, currently in Western Europe from Africa.
I plan to enter Russia at St. Petersburg and ride to Vladivostok, starting around mid June to mid August. Anyone planning the same route, we can maybe join up for a while?
Let me know
Thanks
John

Vladivostok to Europe
Hi John,
If you see a solo biker on an old F650 Funduro coming in the opposite direction, give us a wave.
Vladivostok 1st June from NZ.
Paul.

Hi Paul,
For sure I will and I hope to meet you on the road. Safe travels. If you have pointers for me from the other side of Russia, things to avoid, camping, etc, let me know and I will do the same from this side.

Vladivostok to Europe
Hi John,
Yep, It's all new to me also, but we will sure learn alot. Think my arm will be ready to fall off by the time I get to Latvia, waving to overlanders coming from West to East. Also hope to go to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, for a coffee and a rest,
Paul.

Hi John,
Three of us plan to ride a similar route to yours at around the same time and it would be fun to meet and ride together. We should be crossing from Finland to Saint Petersburg around June 18 and will get to Vlad around July 27 to catch the July 30 ferry to Korea. We plan to also ride through Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
All the best,
(another) Paul

Hi Boatdoc,
You got it. I have to get out of EU by June 12th as my visa expires, but we should be able to meet up somewhere on our route.
We will stay in touch
Thx

Paul, where are you?
Hi Paul,
If you get this, let me know where you are on your way West from Vladivostok.
I am in Kazan, Tatarstan heading east. I have some info to help you on your way to St. Petersburg.
Thanks
John

Hi Jamie,
I am already in Ufa, Bashkotorstan, already. It will be a miracle if you will be able to catch up, but if you, I will be happy to ride together to the East.
Careful of the Russian truck drivers, some of them are driving really fast and the roads aren't that great.
Keep in touch

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
