Hi guys,
me and my girlfriend tried to find a solution that suits our time schedule best as driving through Tibet seems to be like a rush hour within 30 days combined with a 50:50 chance of entering the province from the west. As we wether have a time schedule nor a date to be in some place, we decided now NOT to drive through Tibet.
It's a shame for us that one has to rush through a prestine area of earth for that huge budget and short time actually!
We will head for the KKH route to Pakistan-India (just Northwestindia-Nepal-Northeastindia)- to myanmar instead in mid september. I know, it is not the same but it will give us more time to explore the himalayas than the trip through Tibet as we don't want to miss that part of earth.
I'm sorry if I confused some of you guys and maybe had requested too early.
But in case some one got (or gets) the chance to enter Tibet from the west and has been to Tholing and the area of guge kingdom I will be very happy if he or she could report about his experience!
Cheers

Kashgar Lhassa Katmandou
Bonjour,

Bien cordialement,

Recently we sent out some requests to all well known agencies. We are aiming to fix the route and the number of travellers till the end of february, hopefully. By the way, we are a couple from germany, both 33 y., and leaving our city in april heading east. We do have some travel experiences and run a Mitsubishi L300.
If there's anything you need to know or you are unsure about please just send us an email or post it here. Do not hesitate we will answer to every message because we do have some unanswered questions as well :-)

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
