Iran Guide share India to Turkey (April/May) 2015
Looking for other Canadians, Brits or Americans who require a guide like myself (Canadian) to share for the crossing. Planning to cross sometime in April/May of 2015. So if you are of a less fortunate nationality like myself and will be in India spring of 2015 let me know.

I´m from Argentina, and so far everybody told me I need an escort too. Where did you find that info? It´s hard to plan something when there is so much crap info going around...
Thanks!

Only Brits, US and Canadians......If you try and get a visa you will be refused. Just call a travel agency to confirm if need be. Hoping it all change by next year again.

The thing is I email all agencies and the told me I need a guide too. No matter the nationality everyone is required one. I don't know if that is true or they just want to sell their services.
CHECK THIS EMAILS FROM AN AGENCY AND FIGURE OUT
Dear Martin,
Yes we are able to offer guide to you.
The guided driver will be 175 USD per day.
The guide will be 95 USD per day.
If the arrival city and departure city will be different one or two extra day will be added to the price, depending on the distance of the departure city.
Should you require further information please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Thank you very much for clearing this Aliye! I guess it must be a new rule and not many people know about it.
I would like to know if you provide this service. If so, how much it would cost per day.
Best regards
Martin.-

Dear Martin,
By this rule all nationalities who want to travel to Iran by their own car, motorcycle or bicycle should obey this rule.
Should you require further information please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Hi Martin,
We have German friends who entered Iran 3 weeks ago and do not have a guide.
Did you try Up Persia for a number? It's an online form to get the number, pay in Iran once you are there, in Shiraz or Tehran.
If they ask if you are travelling in your own vehicle, the answer is no.
Also don't tell them on the form, just put in your (any) planned itinerary.
We have friends who used them and they will enter at the beginning of October.

I have another contact I need to hunt out, who was incredibly helpful. PM me if you want her details as well.
Best of luck

That would not surprise me Martin. I could see them taking advantage of this going forward if you asked them directly about a guide. I wold follow Wicky Chicky advice since it is the MFA who decides if you get the approval code.
Wicky Chicky i know you were looking for others to share a guide. Did you try it the way you suggested to Martin for yourself? You are like me and are one of the few nationalities that are supposed to require a guide 100%.
The goal is to get that approval code from the MFA. After that I do not think they would turn you back at the border?
Let me know how you made out for yourself.
