London to Vladivostok - leave July/August '17

Hello there,

Anyone planning headed this way this some, either in part or in total? Am considering a circa 3 month trip headed from Russia through Kaz to Uzbek then across to Tajikistan and the Pamir before cutting north back to go to Ulan Bator and beyond.

I wouldn't have masses of time but equally don't want to rush and spend loads of time on highways - want to do some good exploring. Av of 150km - 170km a day, covering 14,000 - 16,000km in total.

Doing it on a £30 / day budget so (wild) camping, minimal restaurants and hotels/hostels.

Let me know if you're interested in joining.

Ed

Yes, I'm doing a similar route to Ulaanbaatar but leaving end of May. Heading to Volgograd and then taking a fairly off road route. Will be doing 150-200 miles per day.

Hey mate,

I will be starting from Vladivostok, through Monglia and then in KZ and a loop of the Stans

I expect to cross Mongolia in July and the Stans over Aug/Sept

Might be able to link up around there?

Email me on ar.tm AT hotmail.com if you would like to try and arrange something

Hi guys,

My name is Alex, I am from Russia, Moscow. We do motorcycle tours and bike rental in Moscow. We are going to go Trans-Siberian tour in a group of 4-6 bikes starting from Moscow in the 1st of June and then one more tour in the 20th of July.

I think you are not interested in group tours, but we can meet for a glass of in Moscow in June. May be we will meet with some of you during the trip.

Here is our web site - https://rusmototravel.com/.

You can see how we plan Trans-Siberian tour there - https://rusmototravel.com/tours/tran...cles-10-000-km

If you will have any questions or need any help don't hesitate to ask.

Yours,
Alex

Greetings everyone.

We (2 riders, DR650 and Tenere) will leave Belgium on May 7th. We'll do the Stans, mainly for Pamir, Zorkul, Bartang, ... between mid june and mid july. Going there via Turkey - Georgia - Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan.
Mostly camping or cheap hostels when available. The route has as many off-tarmac trails as we can find.
I've been in contact with some of you already. If you see an opportunity to join forces for some parts of the trip, send me a note please.

We plan to do roughly 300Km/day. Early start of day, early to bed. Avoiding cities and populated areas. Endpoint for us is Bishkek, from where we fly back home.

Happy to discuss plans, share tracks, learn from others

Route overview attached

Cheers,

Joris

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
