Morocco- Cape Town November 2011

Hi Guys

I'm planning to ride from the UK down to Cape Town in November and looking for some fellow riders to share the journey with.

Im thinking of going the western route from Morocco to Mauritania, Senegal,Gambia,Mali,Burkina Faso,Ghana,Togo,Benin,Nigeria,Cameroon,Gabon,Congo ,Angola,Nambia, Botswana, South Africa then ship the bike back to the UK.

Im pretty flexible on dates and route depending on border crossings safety etc.
My bike is a dr650 and I hope to ride on the dirt a lot!

Matt

Hi Matt, When do you plan to be in Morocco?

I'm hoping to be tour about Morocco for 20 days or so. I'm hoping about 11 Oct to 31 Oct 2011. Will be on an Africa Twin (two up). Dirt sound good, and camping ?

Stephen,
Alice Springs out back Oz.

Well we'll be touring about, before we head over from Algeciras to Ceuta. We plan to be in Gibraltar for a few days before heading to Africa.

I plan to exit Morocco at Melila in the east coast of Morocco. And then head u to Valencia for the last round of MotoGP on 5-6 Nov. Hoping to see Casey 'wrap-up' a championship winning season!!

Hi Matt,

I'm planning a two weeks off road trip with some colegues trough Mauritania in mid october, after that i would like to continue south with my XR 650 L following a similar route to you but only until Cameroun, however I haven't defined exactly my future plans ( som actual work is killing me ). If you want we can get in contact to inform each other about our trip to study if we can get together. I like very much going trough the dirt too

Matt, take a look at our link. We are definitely doing the ride however taking in Guinea as an addition to your list. Depending on dates perhaps we could hook up ?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
