Morocco - oct 09

Hello All,
I’m looking at the monsoon outside here on the English Riviera! Should be gardening but as well as the weather I am nursing a sore knee which flared up again on Saturday. I unfortunately slid off in early may in Morocco and was lucky I could carry on for about another 60 miles of piste, an amazing ride but that was the end of my non tarmac experiences for that trip. So I’m in a similar boat to Mel, hoping it will be ok by the end of sept if I can wangle to come. Should be getting it looked at and scanned soon. I’m in Paignton, Devon, so the Plymouth ferry is favourate, but can meet in Portsmouth.
Adrian

Morocco Trip

Hi all,
back from Spain and i can see we may have some adventurers which is good news, I'm in the same boat as you Adrian, it seems to be taking for ever to repair the muscles/ligaments,back to the Hospital on 13th August for another overhaul.
I will be talking to Stephen over the next few hours to get an update and how we can progress further.

Hi all

Booked on the ferry to Bilbao from Portsmouth on the 03 October, driving through Spain then corssing intoTagier on probably 07 October. Spending about 14 days in Morocoo in a sort of clockwise circuit roughly; Tangier, Meknes, Erfoud, Marrakech then coast road back up to Tangier.

Would be great to meet up if anyone else is there or there abouts in October.

Gareth

Hi Gareth,

Me and a mate are taking the Plymouth-Santander ferry on 4th October, stopping over in Salamanca on 5th and hopefully crossing over to Maroc on 6th, or maybe 7th, depending on how it goes. I'm riding a GS, he's on a (modified) Versys... I fancy doing more trails than he does, but we've no firm plans as yet, except changing to more rugged tyres when we get there.
I went last year on an organised trip, so know a little about the place... where to go, where to stay etc. If you want to tag along, you're welcome... let me know and I'll give you some details.

Brian

that's a busy thread!

Me and my brother are going to be on the Portsmouth-Santander ferry on the 14th Oct, KTM and DR singles. First time in Africa on bikes, we have both been hitch hiking in Morocco some years ago. Heading down towards Dakar this time. No detailed plans yet

Would be great to hook up with other travelling folk on the way!

Hi,

I am also heading to Morocco in October, no ferry booked yet but i have sorted green card insurance starting on the 7th, so would be interested in meeting any one crossing over to Tangier/Ceuta around that time.

I will be solo on a Africa Twin, i have been to morocco before on my own, but did not try any piste riding because of the danger involved in solo riding, so would like to try some pistes this time, i have know wish to drag a fully loaded Africa Twin up a mountain or through deep sand though.

Hi Guys.

I've got time off work End of September through to October and was going to do a European blast but Morocco would be much more of an adventure! Is there room for one more on this trip or have I left it to late?

Cheers

Phil

owle,
Looks like you'll be crossing about the same day as me. You're dead right about riding pistes on your own... not advisable
See above... I'm going with a mate, but not sure how much piste riding he wants to do... If you fancy meeting up, it could be to our mutual advantage.
I don't have a PM here, but you can email me on

Where in the UK are you? I'm in NW Leicestershire.
