Myanmar (Thailand-India) Aug/Sep/Oct 2016
Hi All
Looking to cross Myanmar from Thailand to India in the latter part of this year. My options are open for when but I wanna do the crossing fairly quick and dirty, maybe 2 weeks. Just me so far.
I currently live in Chiang Mai, Thailand but I have my Tenere 660 I rode here from Australia. My work contract expires end of June, I wanna give myself a bit of time to get my affairs in order and then get down to Malaysia for a new carnet. Then depending who I can find out there to join a tour either cross Myanmar in August or ride around for a bit then cross in September or early October. So I'm open to suggestions
I have some friends who have recently done it the other way who say they have some good contacts and advice for me, but overall I'll be looking to do it on the cheap. If this sounds like you or someone you know get in touch

Great Idea
Hi there,
I think this is great idea to explore the eastern country and through this trip you will meet the new guys and friends where you can get the different experience from them.

Hey Rowan.
You already know I'm interested. I'm looking for a late July to early August crossing. As much as I'd love to go slowly, the cost tell e me that a fast crossing is the best way to do it for my onward travel.
I'm trying to meet up with someone on the other side so crossing early is ok. I'll be leaving KL on (hopefully) the 19th of July to ride north to Mae Sot.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
