Nepal-China-Laos on mid October 2012 - Looking for travel partners to share costs
Hi,
We will be riding two up from Spain to Australia on a BMW.
Initial plan was flying from Katmandu to Bangkok around mid october, but if we find travel partners to share costs we would consider going through Tibet and China to Laos.
Aprox. date is mid October 2012.
Already have contacted two agencies but no travelers have contacted them for those dates.
Anybody interested in joining??
Jose

hi Jose,
I might be mixing up the posts here but are you thinking of doing the KKH north to south, crossing india to nepal, then riding back thru china to laos? If so, this is intriguing and I wonder how the timing for this would work out? we are also 2up heading east starting in May.

Hi Niello, yes my idea is try to join Fern and her group on the frontier Kyrgyzstan-China the first week of september, then do the KKH south, North India and Nepal so my timimg would be around October 15-25 in Katmandu, if I find a group and cost are more or less ok, would drive through China to Laos.
If I don´t find a group I will fly to Bangkok.
Would that work out for you?
Jose

Jose, sorry for quoting one post just after other but I think that would work out for us. We might change the intial plan which was Kazachstan - Turkmenistan - Iran into Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan to join you on the route from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan through KKH and than as I posted before India - China - Nepal - Laos (or Vietnam)
Let me know if that is suitable for you.
@Niello8 How about you ? Is that plan I wrote to Jose suitable for you also ?

So sorry I didnt reply before! Jose you have my email address, i would love if you would send me the quotes. We are debating whether to do something like this or stay for a while in india & nepal. That, and trying to avoid scheduling as much as possible...

Group numbers are growing, right now, we are six bikes with eight persons so it is very possible that around the third week of October we will ride from Nepal to Laos.
If anybody else is interested please tell me.

We're planing to ride a similar route this year too. Originally we planned to head to Laos a little bit later but this sounds nice. Could you send me the quotes for two persons and two bikes.

Can you either post the approx costs or pm them to me I am planning a similar trip in October this year, but because of the high costs I am now considering flying from India to Bangkok. If the costs are within my meagre budget I will most certaintly join you on the China trip.
Keep upright Bill

Hi Bill, did you get my message??
We are already 10 confirmed so if you are interested, you would be the last one in order not to be a group too big.

Jose
