Nevada to Montana 2013
I though I would get this out there 1 year in advance. I have been wanting to take an off-road/on-road trip to Montana from Gardnerville Nevada. If you are like me, you have been daydreaming about doing a 2 week off/on road trip through the back country, yet you haven't done it do to scheduling or you have no one to accompany you. This may be your opportunity.
It's a lot of fun dirt and country slab and from what I am told by an ADVRider inmate RWAMF, "great for big adventure bikes". I would do it alone, but being an out of shape 52 year old desk jockey, it may be tough picking up the bike from an off, thus two travelers make a lot more sense if problems occur. 600+ pound bikes are hard to pull from the mud unassisted.
I'll try and post the track once I figure out how to.
I ride a 2007 990 Adventure and I'm in San Dimas Calif.
The trip would be taken September 2013 when the high pass snows are gone. If you are interested, drop me a line.

I may be interested also. Depending on my position at the time I could probably get the time to do this, gf may also be interested. We both ride KTM 640 adventures. Keep me posted, looks like a fantastic route though.
Cheers,

Apparently I cannot send PM's until I have 5 posts. If they only let me use some of my ADVrider posts... Anyway i will PM you as soon as I have 5 posts for those files, they would be fun to look over, just from the map you posted it looks like it would be a fantastic loop.
Cheers,

I'm told it's 1/2, if not more, off road by the person who road it. It's also 600lb bike approved type off road, meaning those nice graded back country dirt roads that offer camping all over the place. I would suggest that anyone who wants to come along have intermediate dirt experience.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
