Finally Headed to Mexico Tomorrow!!!
After 103 days on the road we have travelled from Vancouver to Inuvik and are now in Texas. Our route has taken us thru 2 provinces, 2 territories, and 19 states. We are waiting for tires to arrive tomorrow then we will cross at Del Rio!!! So excited to finally head South! We have not seen any overland bikers in many weeks so we hope to meet some in Mexico.

Hi Saralou,
I'll be heading south later this month. You're in for some fun! Although when I rode to Panama and back a couple years ago I didn't run into any other overlanders. I was riding back roads so that was part of it, but I was expecting to meet others on the road. Maybe this year will be different.
I will follow your ride report. Maybe see you down the road in Central or South America.
Safe travels!
Kindest regards,
John Downs

You are welcome to stay with us in Mex City. We will put you up, cook you breakfast and even show you around. All at no charge! (well you may have to wash the dishes)
I normally met people outside the city and guide them in.

I don't see why we wouldn't let a Chinese Biker stay. Just send me a PM and we'll fix it up.

There are three of us getting tires put on now and trying to cross tecate in a day or two. We just are looking to get our insurance thing figured out today or tomorrow and start heading south. We will use the ferry in the bottom of the baja and cross over to Mazatlan. Maybe we can meet up down there somewhere

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
