October 2019, Crossing China from Mongolia to Laos
Hi folks,
we (Johanna & Malte) are now in contact with several agencies to organize a Mongolia - Laos itinerary (entering China at Bulgan/Takeshikenzhen) through mainly remote areas of China directly after the Golden Week (so approx. 8th October).
We don't want to make it a simple transit crossing, but also see unexpected beautiful landscapes of the "Middle Kingdom". Furthermore we don't want to rush and plan to make it ~ 35-40 days.
We already have some offers that are quite good and, regarding the pricing, not too far from other transit-itineraries like Kyrgyzstan - Nepal/Laos.
We are going to travel with a Mitsubishi L300 4WD van.
So, if you're interested in joining or just getting some idea of this journey, feel free to contact us via Mail (kommingang@gmail.com) or via this forum.
We're looking forward to hearing from you!
Johanna & Malte

Hey guys! I'm here in Europe heading East towards the stan countries and would love to know more about the cost of the trip and maybe some of the locations you guys plan on going. I don't think I'll make it there before October because my motorcycle broke here in the Czech Republic but such is life

Hi gnarlynate,
just send us a mail, so we can send you back the offers we got so far with itineraries, schedules and more information.
Of course we also have a preferred one yet...
Cheers,
Malte

Hey Malte,
Currently on my way to Mongolia on a motorcycle and interested in crossing China to SE-Asia! My riding buddy might be interested also.
Could you let me know if motorcycles are an option, timing and pricing?
Also, are you expecting to encounter snow or sand on the route?
Thx!

Hello wanderer78,
motorcycles are also an option, yes!
The timing so far is starting on 8th October, and crossing within 40 days.
I'll send you the exact itinerary plus pricing.
In October/November we'll have to expect some snow, since we'll have some tracks in > 4.000 m height.
I can't say, if there are sand tracks or not.
But so far the two cars joining are offroad vehicles, so just in case we'll be prepared.
If you have further questions, feel free to ask!
We're in close contact to the agency.
Cheers
Malte
