Hey! Our trip is ongoing, great so far. A bit cold though! We took our Scion XB, towing a trailer with the bikes. Some good, some bad there:
Good:
-Sleeping in the back of the XB is great! We fold down the seats, lay out pads and such, it's like having our own cabin. Suck on that, bad weather!

-Great MPG, about 25 to 35 depending on road/elevation/speed/etc.
Bad: really just one thing, pulling the trailer becomes a pain through bumpy, nasty roads. The car does fine, and the trailer so far has been fine, but it's nerve-wracking to watch/listen to it whanging around back there. In the future, I think I'd try a pickup truck instead.
Moab was GREAT. Are you a first-timer, or veteren? This was our first time on dirt, and my wife's first time ever on a bike at all. We did Gemini Bridges first, and the cliffs + steep downs + rocky bits were scary for my wife, and for me watching, ha. We found that "Mineral Point" was an awesome ride, no cliffs but lots of fairly technical stuff to have fun and learn on. "Long Canyon" was beautiful, but the "Pucker Pass" portion was so eroded it was nearly impossible to make it back up. I took her bike (a youth CRF70) up and had fun, but it was challenging. My bike, a street-oriented little CB125 clone, was nasty. Did it mostly by luck and lots of pushing.
Oh, pro-tip! Gemini Bridges parking is $5 per night. Cheapest. Camping. Ever. If you don't mind a big gravel lot with cars going by. Eh, I'm a light sleeper and did fine.
Lots and lots of free BLM camping, actually. Just gotta look around. We only ever found them by accident.
Bryce, where we are now, is beautiful, but far fewer amnenities. Also, it's all owned by Ruby's Inn, which means all you get is nasty tourist food at triple price. We ended up driving all the way to Panguitch for a proper meal, "Big Fish Inn" I think it was called. Awesome burgers. Very important
At Bryce, just park and take the free shuttles. Great method, glad we did that.
Hope that helps in some way, bug me here in a few weeks to remind me to post the full story and info, once we are done!
