A propper trip i tell thee!
Hi im a 27 yr old guy from England and im planning a big trip round Europe starting June 2012, i know this is early but i just thought id put it out there early to give time for replys.
Iv done a little travelling before but nothing major so though mayaswell stop messing around n if im guna do it, mayaswell do it proper this time. Im hoping the trip will last around 6 months, really taking in the whole of Europe and by the time the trip is over wanna feel like i know Europe really well.
Hears the route im planning on taking... first I get a ferry from portsmouth to santander, spain. spend some time riding through portugal down to lisbon..maybe like 3-4 weeks in portugal. then ride in an east direction to madrid, spain spend a couple of weeks ther. then barcelona, south france, genoa, milan, rome, siccily, greece, turkey, bulgaria, croatia, germany for the oktoberfest then amsterdam wer i catch the ferry back to uk. i know its a big trip so would best suit someone without any solid comitments.
If your thinking 'this guy must be a millionair to afford a trip like this' ud b wrong, i aint got a lot of money just a little saved so would like to do it on a kinda budget, staying in hostels, campsite n other cheap accomadation wer possible. also thought it would b cool to do a little work while i travel, maybe in a few bars or watever i can get.
if anyone is interested in joining, giving me sum advice or suggestion feel free to get in touch, email me or whatever. my email adress is tmsellis@hotmail.com
cheers
TOM.

Hello Mate
Just looked at your proposed route, and have you thought about reversing it?? That way when its raining in Northern Europe, you'll be in Portugal/ Spain, with the sun on your back.
Just a thought. Good luck.

ferry..?
Why are you getting a ferry to Spain, what's wrong with going through western France? Take in Normandy, Paris, Toulouse etc..! Lovely bit of the world!

Great idea leave in June and come back in December. If I was you I would think of leaveing in March heading south in to the sun, Then comeing north as it hot's up. Diving south in the Autumn. Then think of comeing home. But each to there own.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
