July 7th Returning to Africa to finish what I started. Morocco to Cape Town.

Hi Guys,

Im returning to Africa to continue my trip down through West Africa. Ill be back in Morocco in July to collect my bike. I had a big off in the Sahara Desert and busted up my collarbone and had to return to Australia for the operation and recovery.
Im hoping that I someone might be heading off to Cape Town around then. I had not planned n being that far north in July but these things happen.
IM traveling on a KTM690 Adventure.
Hope to catch up for a and a chat. The Adventure must continue.

I land in Morocco on the 7th. Have to go collect my bike from the camp I have it stored at then making my way straight to Agadir were I have a mate. Ill be servicing the bike and making sure its all ok after my crash and then heading down to Dakar as fast as I can go also. Its going to be real hot and I dont want to be hanging around there for to long. So Would be great to catch up.

A picture is a 1000 words.

A couple of pictures that tell a thousand words. The sand dune and the resulting injury from going over the handle bars in the desert.

Can tell the story about it if we ride together. Over a couple s.

Nasty looking crash, hope you've fully recovered!

Yes, the heat isn't going to be fun but we only have this window to get our minibus south (providing the paperwork comes soon!)

So we'll see you somewhere ... possibly night-stopping in Tan-Tan (which I adore) or else Tarfaya (which I've yet to see & it's of particuarly aeronautical interest to me)

Looking forward to sharing somewhere before the border.

This is a rough guide of where I plan on traveling when I reach west Africa. The red pins in Morocco have already been visited before I hurt myself.

Great to hear you are back patdavey! We just finished our West coast trip and now in SA going back up from east.
I see you wanna go to Nigeria, or you have to. We heard a lot of storied people having super hard time to get visas in Benin/Togo. Ghana should be easy but we got ours in Burkina Faso, super easy!
Good luck!

Hi Lallya35,

I will be getting my visas along the way. The one visa I was going to get in my home country does not have an embassy (DRC) My Mauritania visa was easy to get I got that in Rabat Morocco. Copy of passport 2 passport pictures and the money. Had the visa 4 hours later. Senegal I had to do the online application. I have heard this has change and Senegal has dropped the visa cost from the 1st of may. I dont have anymore visas as yet but will get my next lot in Dakar when I arrive there.
Hope this helps a bit.
Patrick

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
