Santiago to Ushuaia Leaving New Year's Day
I'm in Santiago, Chile at the Plaza Londres Hostel and will be leaving for Ushuaia tomorrow, New Year's Day.
Anyone interested in joining me?

Hi Chris
I'm arriving in Santiago tomorrow, probably staying 2 nights, then heading south. Maybe I'll catch you up at some point?

Santiago
David,
Sounds good. I'm planning on moving right through toward Ushuaia because I've already been to southern Chile.

Hi Chris,
I am also in Santiago, just arrived here from Australia, but i will go north ...
Question: Does the Plaza Londres Hostel have secure parking ? I will come back in a few weeks to go south, but want to stay at a different place .
Best regards,
Jan

Hotel Plaza Londres
Jan,
Yes, they have a small cochera that I have my bike in and they don't charge any more for it. I stayed at the Hotel Paris for one night (no parking) and this is much better, cheaper (10,000 pesos for a shared bath room that's bigger), a decent breakfast (toast, cereal, yougurt, coffee or tea, and juice) is included, WiFi is better (although unsecured), and there are two computers for guests to use.
I decided to stay for at least one more day as I need rear brake pads and was not able to get them yesterday. I thought that I would get them down the road futher, but I'll feel better if I have them before I leave Santiago, especially if I take route 40 in Argentina. Consequently, if I can get them tomorrow, I might leave then, or I may have to wait until Monday to find them.
Chris

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
