SE Asia
I am going to be in Thailand from the early Dec and going up to Chiang Mai on or around the 12th, hoping to hire a bike and ride Northern Thailand for about 17 days before flying to either Laos or Cambodia. If anyone is about in Northern Thailand and wants to meet up for a /ride out, let me know
I will post again when I know which other country I am going to

Hope you have a great time in Thailand Wayne. I'm sure you will!
PS - remember to do the Crocodile Dundee check on the Thai Sheila's (heshe) over there ....
PPS .. and after your Hamburg experience.. you'll probably find your left wrist will be aching a lot more in Thailand
Ride Safe

I just started planning for early Jan.
Thinking on using a tour Welcome to HAMA. Vietnam tour operator. Tour Laos, Tour Sri Lanka
8 day tour for around $1200.
Would consider date flexibility to team up.
I'm thinking tour Vietnam and then cross (Laos) into Thailand, 21 day trip.
Any advise tour / buy in country?
Can you buy in Thai or Vietnam and drive through Laos?
Visas, americano?
Seems like biking and busing combo would be user friendly'(er)
Only 3 weeks to explore.

Personally I would not use a tour as I prefer to do my own thing and go where I want.
As for buying, if you are looking at buying in Thailand then have a look at this site Ride Asia Motorcycle Forum , there are a few threads on buying in Thailand and you need proof of residence etc, so I don't think its a good option. I am renting in Thailand with a company who will let me take the bike over the border.
Thailand and Laos will allow Brits visa on arrival, not sure about other nations.
The price for the tour $1200, is that all in? I am getting my bike for about $25/27 a day and have it for just over 5 weeks
enjoy it

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
